This is some additional research which I carried on some popular hip hop magazines. Through doing this I am able to familiarize myself with the conventions of music magazines. It has also made it clearer to my how I am going to reach my target audience and what appeals to them in terms of the colours used, fonts, images etc.

As you can see, the majority of these covers show a male artist. In my product I'd like to have a female artist on the front cover because I feel as though these covers are targeted more towards a male audience so I'd like to create something which a female audience can enjoy and relate to.
